The Trial of Viet Khang

I’ve got a small shred of good news about the whereabouts of Viet Khang, followed by a heavy dose of bad news.  The good news, Viet Khang is still alive.  The bad news, that’s about all we know of him.  Ever since his arrest earlier this year, Viet Khang has been in the custody of the Communist Party police for his criticism of the Communist Party through song.  There is no doubt that he has been subjected to cruel and unusual punishment for having the courage to shame the Communists for the Chinese sheep-dogs they really are.  In the coming days, the Party will put him on “trial”, so obviously, justice will not be served.

The outcome of the trial is as predictable as a sliced bread.  The judges, juries, and executioners will all be members of the Communist Party, the heroic Viet Khang will not get a chance to defend himself, and then the Communists will pretend that the “verdict” came from processes of deliberation and debate.  The trial is all a load of bull, we will all see right through it, but the Communists will still insist that the trial was fair.  The question is not whether he will get sentenced or not, but how long and severe the punishment will be.  The Communists are no strangers to incarceration, torture, and execution, all are possibilities in the case of Viet Khang.  This is actually the troubling part for those of us watching form the outside.

If the Communists are smart, which they aren’t really, they will sentence Viet Khang to a few short years in jail, this is the best case scenario.  If the Communists are stupid, which they are, they will sentence Viet Khang to over a decade in prison, exile him, or even sentence him to death.  They probably won’t be so stupid to publicly declare his death sentence, as it could cause public outrage, backfire, and even spark social unrest, but at the same time, they’re Communists, they’re stupid.

Given the magnitude of Viet Khang’s actions, it is most likely that he will be receiving a long jail sentence lasting for a decade or more.  Viet Khang is internationally famous among the Vietnamese community for writing two songs, “Anh La Ai (Who Are You)?”, tackling the topic of Vietnamese police brutality, corruption, and cowardice, and “Viet Nam Toi Dau (Where’s My Vietnam)?” shaming the Vietnamese Communist Party for selling out the country to the Chinese and devastating Vietnam with their greed and corruption.

From the outside, it may look like there is nothing we can do to help Viet Khang.  In the physical, this may be true, but morally, spiritually, and especially politically, there are many things we can do.  Morally, just support Viet Khang’s cause, and believe that everything he’s done up to now has not been in vain.  Spiritually, pray for Viet Khang, send your thoughts out to him, and do not lose hope.  Politically, support Viet Khang, spread the word of his music, and make sure that everyone from this generation onward knows of his courage, strength, and his selfless acts.  Also, make sure to support Truc Ho and his tireless efforts to bring democracy and human rights to Vietnam.

Musical producer and political activist Truc Ho has been fighting endlessly to create awareness for Viet Khang’s cause.  Mr. Truc has been, and continues to lobby U.S. politicians, as well as the international community at large, on behalf of human rights in Vietnam.  He has also fought to bring awareness and international support for Viet Khang’s cause.  Needless to say, he’s done more than a fair bit to help the democracy and human rights movement in Vietnam.

Not everyone can do what Truc Ho has done, but everyone can do something to help the cause.  I myself can write, therefore I write on this blog to spread the word about Vietnam’s situation and what we can do to help.  Truc Ho has his many contacts, his music company, and his new television network to create awareness on a massive scale.  We all have many unique skills that can help the cause.  We live all over the world, and we all work in different places.  However, we all believe that Vietnam deserves freedom, and that Viet Khang too deserves his freedom.  For now, we wait, we hope, and we pray.  Tomorrow, we will be the change.

  1. “Hi everyone…this is Huong Nguyen from Lynn, Mass and I am 27 years old in a month of September 4th 1985 and I just want to say that we need some American soldiers and troopers to free Viet Khang oiut of Jail and let him learn his respeot and truthful honesty to make sure he did the right thing just like all of the other people here in Vietnam is trying to do and the Vietnamese cops should have minded their own business and let all of the good Vietnamese people do their own personal jobs and let all the kids in Vietnam go to school and college and especially after that they will be getting their own job as well to help their own friends and family and especially their own relatives also so I hope Viet Khang will be ok and happy to himself if he is definitely going to be free from those bad Vietnamese cops too so good luck to Viet Khang !!

    • Asian Fraog Says:

@HuongP.Nguyen. Your elders have got their chance to fight for freedom with not some GIs but half a million ones. And they failed. And speaking of human rights , have a look at Singapore where international media is not vocal about their Internal Security Act which is said as following:
“he Ministry of Home Affairs Internal Security Department enforces the country’s Internal Security Act (ISA) as a counter to potential espionage, international terrorism, threats to racial and religious harmony, and subversion. The ISA permits indefinite detention without formal charges or recourse to trial, and has been used to imprison political opponents, including Chia Thye Poh, who was held for 32 years without trial before being released. As of 2005, 36 men were being held under the ISA.” And Thailand with the Lèse _Majesty law .
And how’s about the Patriot Act in the US ?

  2. Asian Fraog, now I can conclude about you as follows:

1 You defended the terrorists of whom you must be one of them: a viet cong. Actions VC used before 1975 are widespread available now. You are afraid of Viet Khang, a patriot of Vietnam who only sings loved songs for Vietnam.

2 You are the modern slave of pirated chinese: A viet cong. Viet cong always looked up to chinese, does not matter what kind of chinese they are.

3 Your rational that used to defend communism is from communist’s propaganda. You know English but you refused to open your eyes and your mind. Yes, VC won the war but at the loss of all Viet people.
    – Since VC won the war, all people of Vietnam suffered, except VC, at the same time the living standard of other countries highly improved.
    – Vietnam lose land, sea, and islands since VC governs Vietnam.
    – Many Vietnamese have been traded as goods in Asia since VC governs Vietnam.
    – People of many countries look down on Vietnamese who carried a passport of the Socialist republic of Vietnam. Can you tell?

4 The South Vietnam lost the war that was the loss of the Vietnamese to the chinese and you are proud of that. “Who are you?” . How many chinese soldiers participated in the war with VC? How many tons of weapons of china VC used to kill Vietnamese during the war? In history, Vietnam has lost and won in war with china. Because of people like you, VC, that led to the current conditions of Vietnam today, as a result Viets are suffered heavily. Vietnamese will fight to kick out the chinese and to take back what VC sold to china. It may take 100 years, 200 years or 1000 years. Viet people will fight for their Freedom & Independence and regain their Dignity that VC has sold out to china.

  3. Cool blog! Is your theme custom made or did you
download it from somewhere? A theme like
yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog jump out.
Please let me know where you got your design. Appreciate it

  4. My prayers and thoughts go out to Viet Khang. I may not see Vietnam freed and democratic in my life time.

But I know for sure my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will destroy the Vietnamese Communist Party because Free Will to choose and express one’s opinion is a God given right to all man kind.

Communism and Socialism will be extinguished because freedom and liberty are given by God to man as we are given the free will to choose Him or not.

Communism is the work of the Devil. Anyone promoting communism will have his name removed from the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Live Free or Die. And Vietnam will be free indeed. Amen.

  5. I want to to thank you for this wonderful read!! I definitely loved every little bit of it.
I have you saved as a favorite to check out new stuff you post…

  6. I believe what you composed made a ton of sense. But, think
about this, suppose you were to write a killer
headline? I mean, I don’t want to tell you how to run your website, but suppose you added a post title that makes people desire more? I mean The Trial of Viet Khang | Freedom For Vietnam is a little vanilla. You should look at Yahoo’s home page and note how
they create news headlines to grab viewers to click.
You might add a related video or a related picture or two to get people excited about everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it would make your posts a little bit more interesting.
